| UN Agencies in Saudi Arabia Carry Several Activities on “Environment” in Commemoration of the UN day for 2007 – A Visit to a FAO Project in Najran |

The United Nations agencies that are represented in Saudi Arabia carried out various activities and events to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the United Nations.
All activities came to highlight the issue of Environment in the Kingdom. One activity during the commemoration of the UN week on Environment was a visit to the National Centre for Horticultural Research and Development in the city of Najran on Thursday 13 November 2007. UN officials; Dr. El-Mostafa Benlamlih, Dr. Abdallah Oihabi, and Captain Sami Al-Jaber went on a tour in the center to look at the project’s various departments, the labs and the citrus nurseries, the biological control units, and the germplasm collections at the centre.
Following that they met with HRH Prince Mishaal bin AbdulAziz, Najran Governor to further elaborate on the projects carried in Najran. Following this meeting, they all went to visit the “Akhdood” archeological ancient site, followed by a sight-seeing tour to the old city and the dam.
