17 January 2008 The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for Arab States has recently launched a TV campaign (containing 2 Public Service Advertisements) for Youth Development in the Arab World. The campaign was sponsored by Al-Faisaliya Group, and is being broadcasted on five (Middle East Broadcasting Corporation) MBC channels and Al-Arabiya channel. The campaign started on the evening of Thursday 17 January 2008 and will go on for two months on those five channels. It is worth noting here that MBC is airing both PSAs at no cost, and as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
This PSA is aimed at calling for the growth and development of Arab Youth’s physical, mental, and moral health and capabilities. Five Arab celebrities generously volunteered to participate in this PSA and flew to Egypt for the film shooting back in October 2007.
Those are: Muna Abu-Sulayman and Sami Al-Jaber (UNDP’s Goodwill Ambassadors), Taim Hassan, Hend Sabri, and Sulaf Fawakherji (Arab Stars/ Actors). UNDP contracted FullStop Advertising to develop the Storyboard and Follow up on the production and direction of the PSAs.
