|5-8 February 2005, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Holds an International Counter-Terrorism Conference.|
The purpose of the conference was to take common action against terrorism and discuss ideas and offer proposals for dealing with terrorism, its infrastructure and its underlying causes. Two UN delegations participated in this event. Mr. Javier Ruperez, the Executive Director of the United Nations Counter- Terrorism Executive Directorate (CTED), represented Mr. Kofi Anan, the UN Secretary General, heading one of the UN delegations. Mr. Ahmed Sief Aldwlah, The Coordinator of the Analytical Support and Sanctions -Monitoring Team of the 1267 Committee on Al-Qaida & Taleban, represented the second UN delegation in this conference.
