11-13 December 2004, UNDP Saudi Arabia Attends the Regional Colloquium for Religious leaders on HIV/AIDS |
The HIV/AIDS Regional Programme for Arab States (HARPAS) organized a colloquium for Religious leaders from the Arab States in Cairo during the period of 11-13 December 2004, to discuss and develop a consensus/ declaration on HIV/AIDS. This declaration will open the doors to faith-based and civil society organizations to respond to the imminent threats posed by the disease. A final Religious leaders’ declaration was agreed upon as a result of the colloquium. UNDP Saudi Arabia was represented by its HIV/AIDS focal point. A representative of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in Saudi Arabia attended those meetings as well.
