27- 29 November 2004, UNDP Saudi Arabia Participates in an HIV/AIDS Workshop in Jeddah |

The General Directorate of Health in Jeddah – Ministry of Health, held the first national workshop on HIV/AIDS entitled: Women and HIV/AIDS, in Jeddah during the period of 27-29 November 2004. Several UN agencies such as UNDP, UNAIDS, UNICEF, participated and made presentations relating to women, girls, children and human rights in the context of HIV/AIDS. The purpose of the workshop was to create awareness and help boost the national AIDS programme in the country. This workshop attracted a high level of media coverage and significant degree of public participation.
